Nobatembu, Founder & Director of Autism Matters RSA, is dedicated to autism awareness and support. She oversees the autism center and boarding facility, facilitates psychosocial support, leads training for parents and professionals, and drives advocacy campaigns. As a mother of a child with autism, she is passionate about empowering families and fostering community understanding. She is currently studying educational psychology to further her impact in autism support and education.
Ms. Mbengashe has 22 years of experience in health and education, specializing in the assessment, treatment, and support of individuals with communication disorders. She provides guidance to parents, caregivers, and families while advocating for awareness and inclusion. Collaboration with professionals and stakeholders is central to her work, along with establishing support groups and empowering communities. Currently, she serves in the Department of Education’s Inclusive Education Social Support Services, focusing on neurodiversity and education.
Angelo Du Plessis holds a BPsych (RC) from Nelson Mandela University, majoring in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, and Industrial Psychology, and a BA Honours in Psychology from UNISA, specializing in Neuroscience, Sport Psychology, and Play Therapy.
He is certified in Basic and Advanced Play Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Lifeline Personal Growth Counselling. He has also completed specialized training in Response Ability Pathways and Group Work for community empowerment.
Eric Ceba is a dedicated advocate for autism awareness and inclusion, actively supporting individuals with diverse needs through Autism Matters. He plays an integral role in community outreach initiatives, working to create greater awareness, foster acceptance, and improve access to vital services for individuals on the autism spectrum. Through advocacy, education, and hands-on support, Eric helps bridge the gap between communities and essential resources, empowering families and individuals to navigate challenges with confidence. His commitment extends to organizing awareness campaigns, facilitating workshops, and collaborating with key stakeholders to drive meaningful change.
